1934

TRADITION Beginning of the 20th Century

Antonio Espinosa Carreres, a businessman from Crevillente, owner of one of the most important carpet companies in the Crevillente area. 

Businesses manufactured esparto grass mats, adding new fibers such as reed and pita and spreading the practice of matting to other capitals in Spain (Valencia, Madrid and Barcelona).

1980

TRADITION 1934 -1980

After his death, his sons, and especially his daughter María Espinosa Oliver continue the family business with one of the most important textile warehouses in the area.

2003

INNOVATION Artificial grass for Landscape

Realturf designs the first artificial grass for ornamental purposes for public and private areas.  The Elche City Council believes in this new eco-sustainable concept (in the emblematic piece located on Avenida del Ferrocarril) which would save a lot on maintenance and water expenses for the city.

2002

TRADITION 1980 – 2002

María’s children, Francisco and Antonio Candela Espinosa, started several textile businesses including Crevicesped, which manufactures second generation sports artificial grass (25 mm maximum height/polypropylene fibers/silica filler)

2002

INNOVATION 3rd Generation Artificial Grass

Juan Rodríguez Sánchez and Antonio Candela Torregrosa, who both studied and worked in the United States, bring to the Spanish industry a new concept of third generation artificial grass (up to 60 mm height/polyethylene fibers/SBR infill).  The currently known Realturf Systems SL is born.

2008

EXPANSION Europe

The economic crisis hits the national market. Realturf begins to expand to international markets. France, Italy and the United Kingdom: the first markets with excellent acceptance.

2012

EXPANSION International Markets

50% the of annual sales turnover in international markets.

2013

DEVELOPMENT New production center

New logistics and production center in Alicante.

2015

EXPANSION REALTURF USA Creation

International growth continues with the starting of Realturf USA.  Headquarters and logistics center in Houston, United States.

2016

GROWTH 1.000.000 m² per year

Exceeds the annual production of 1,000,000 m² of sports and ornamental artificial grass.

At Veronica Sanchez’s house they trusted in Realturf because they were advised by friends who already had it installed and were very satisfied.

Irene highlights that she decided to use artificial grass because it was the best option for her garden, “aesthetically it is much nicer than natural grass and it doesn’t require so much maintenance”.

FRAN ALCÁZAR

Fran Alcazar is one of the founding partners and trainer of the Nexxo Life centre, a health and personalised training centre in Malaga.

They chose artificial turf for the design of the training room because it was the material that best suited the use and design they wanted to give to the room.

According to Fran, “the result is great, people are very happy and comfortable when they are training and that is the most important thing, and aesthetically it is incredible.”

“As for the endurance of the grass, the traffic here is very high, more than 300 people a day can pass through, a lot of people lying down, the material that slides on the grass, we have sleds, a lot of things that fall on the grass, and it is maintained as the first day.”

He also points out that as far as maintenance is concerned, it is very easy to maintain, no specific maintenance is needed, just scrubbing and little else.
