How to Install Artificial Grass Over Tile Flooring

STEP 1: Measuring and preparing the surface
Before buying your artificial grass, the first thing you need to know is the exact measurements of the surface where it will be installed. Measure carefully and plan the layout in advance so you buy the right amount of material — keep in mind it’s sold in rolls of 2 or 4 meters.
For installations where children will play, we recommend adding a shock-absorbing underlay to cushion falls.
STEP 2: Measuring and cutting artificial grass
Measure and plan the layout well in advance, making sure every piece is laid with the fibers facing the same direction. Our team can help you calculate the exact cuts you’ll need.
Roll out the grass, then mark the areas to cut with the utility knife. If there are columns, measure their depth and mark the grass accordingly.
Always cut from the base upward, wearing safety gloves at all times.
STEP 3: Rolling out the grass
Follow your layout plan, keeping all pieces facing the same direction. Leave a small gap between the grass and the wall for the first piece, then adjust it before making the final cut.
Trim about 0.5 cm from each edge to be joined for a straight seam, leaving a gap of 0.1–0.5 cm between pieces to prevent visible marks.
STEP 4: Applying the seaming tape
Lift the edges to place the seaming tape underneath, spreading the adhesive with a notched trowel for a smooth finish.
Press the joint edges gently onto the tape so they adhere properly, or use self-adhesive seaming tape for a quicker option.
STEP 5: Gluing and securing to the tile
Apply sealant with a caulking gun, adding adhesive dots every 20–30 cm along the entire perimeter. Make sure all corners and cut edges are properly secured.
STEP 6: Silica sand infill
Consider your installation type before using silica sand — it keeps the grass cooler and adds cushioning, but is best avoided indoors or where grass and tile areas combine, since particles can stick to shoes.

STEP 7: Brushing
Brush the surface against the direction of the fibers with a push broom to lift them and remove any loose strands from installation.
