Hot turf limits how and when people can use a space. FiberFresh is Realturf’s built-in cooling enhancement that helps surfaces stay comfortable—even in direct summer sun. By managing how fibers interact with sunlight, FiberFresh turf can measure up to 12°F cooler than comparable non-treated products, making patios, rooftops, play areas, and multisport spaces more usable throughout the day.
FiberFresh is a RealTech® improvement to the yarn formulation and color science of the turf. During manufacturing, we integrate sun-reflective/IR-dissipative additives and tune fiber shades and textures so the surface absorbs less radiant energy. The technology is embedded in the fiber (not a spray), remains invisible on the surface, and preserves the natural look and softness people expect.
Artificial turf heats up when fibers absorb visible and infrared light. FiberFresh shifts that energy balance: specialized pigments and micro-textures reflect and refract more of the sun’s rays, while the polymer package dissipates a portion of absorbed heat more efficiently. Less energy absorbed → lower surface temperatures. Performance is uniform across the field or landscape and pairs well with smart design choices like light/mineral infill, good airflow, and spot shading where possible.
