Tested to EN 13501-1 fire classification and achieving Dfl-s1 performance, FireProof gives architects, installers, and homeowners added peace of mind on rooftops, around grills and fire features, and in public spaces with stricter codes.
FireProof is a RealTech® formulation that integrates fire-resistant additives directly into the turf system (yarns and backing).
Unlike topical sprays, these components are embedded during manufacturing, so they’re invisible on the surface and designed to last the life of the product under normal use. The result is turf that resists ignition and limits flame spread and smoke compared to standard products—without changing color, softness, or blade shape.
When exposed to heat or sparks, FireProof’s additives slow heat release and promote a protective char layer in the polymer, reducing oxygen access and inhibiting flame propagation.
This lowers the likelihood that a small ember becomes a larger incident. Because the technology is built into the fibers and backing, performance is uniform across the field or landscape. Pairing FireProof turf with non-combustible borders (pavers, stone) and mineral infill further supports best-practice fire design.
